All information falls under the latest revision for the EMS Protocols: 11-15-2018
The State of Florida released an RFP for a $60,000 grant targeted to the enhancement of cardiac arrest performance in 5 rural counties in Florida (Taylor County, Columbia County, Highlands County, Monroe County & Walton County).

Being one of only two Resuscitation Academy’s in Florida, Brevard County Fire Rescue was invited to serve as POD Managers and Moderated the training for the Highlands County training. On Thursday August 15th, Dr. McPherson, EMS Assistant Chief Orlando Dominguez, CHRP Coordinator Mark Weiss, Lt. Toney Kelly, FM Chris Chadwick & FM Eric Chiesa traveled down to Highlands County for the day to train approximately 30 people from different rural EMS/Fire Departments.

On Wednesday August 14th, Community Health Resource Program Coordinator Mark Weiss participated in the County’s Health fair in Viera where he informed our fellow county employees about Pulsepoint, Vials of Life, Fire Safety, and the Community Health Program.

Today, the EMS Office along with Dispatch and our GIS guy Nick, met with the Parks and Recreation Director Mary Ellen. We discussed our concerns and possible solutions for responding to any future emergencies at the Linear Trail by the Brevard Zoo.

If anyone is interested, there is a Trauma and Emergency Medicine Conference sponsored by Halifax Health Foundation on September 13, 2019. This conference has 10, 30 minute – 1 hour, information-packed sessions throughout the event with the vendor areas located both directly in and just outside the conference hall where you will be able to interact between sessions and during breaks.

What you will see below is some of the data we have been monitoring on Pre & Post Resuscitation Academy and cardiac arrest tone. As you can see, there is a significant decrease in the times. Keep up the great work guys and girls!!
